What it claims:

An oil-free gel foundation that has the unique ability to transfer water into the skin without the use of any oil. The formula provides adjustable coverage (medium to full) thanks to light-reflective circular pigment that eases the appearance of flaws.
  • Innovative oil-free gel foundation with refreshing, lightweight texture
  • Light-reflective circular pigment provides adjustable coverage
  • Contains 60% charged water and seaweed
  • Protective field prevents water evaporation, blocks environmental oxidation
  • Aloe, Chamomile and Arnica work to calm irritation and soothe sensitive skin
  • Natto gum, a soybean-derived phyto-collagen is a natural emulsifier used in this process. Clinical evidence shows that after consistent 7-day usage, there is a 26% reduction in sebum production
  • Rosemary, Green Tea and Rice Bran boost the immune system and help prevent oxidation

Packaging- 3/5

  • Super chic round glass jar with silver lid.
  • My only complaint is that i sort of wish it came in a pump-style bottle if the formula allowed.
  • I just tap it upside down to get some on the plastic protector then take product from that instead of dipping fingers/ brushes in the product.

Product application- 5/5

  • Can be applied with a brush, sponge or finger tips. I prefer a fairly dense but fluffy brush like the it Cosmetics double ended foundation/concealer brush or the Hourglass No.2 brush.
  • Easy to blend and not much product is needed.
  • Product dries the same color as it is when first applied.
  • Blends easily with other liquid products i've used (concealer, corrector, cream highlighter).

Finish- 5/5

  • Dries to a beautiful satin finish.
  • I would say this is medium coverage but easily build-able.
  • Seems to blur lines and pores without being overly glowy or primer-like.
  • Leaves skin glowing and still looking like skin.
  • Feels light on the skin and doesn't wipe away when you touch it through out the day.
  • I found it looked even better the longer i wore it and instead of getting greasy it just became slightly more dewy but not to the touch.
  • A little loose, translucent powder might be needed on the t-zone if you're a little greasy.

Overall- 5/5

I immediately fell in love with this foundation. Not only is it easy to apply and the finish is beautiful but my skin just felt so healthy with it on and after i removed it i even felt like it must have some skincare properties in it because my skin seemed happier.

Sadly because of the price i won't be using it daily but when i want to just have a beautiful, clean application, i use this. If it weren't so expensive i'd definitely use this as my daily foundation!

If you can afford the splurge i really think this would be great on so many skin types and tones. It comes in 14 shades and mine seemed to adapt well when used on my palest skin and after a spray tan. The color i bought was vanilla which i believe is a neutral shade.

If you live near a store that carries Chantecaille (Space NK for the English people), definitely try and get a sample to try out.

Since i love this product so much i'm also going to have a review and demo video on youtube later this week, too. High end products are really important to get comprehensive reviews on so check back if you're interested in this one!
