Welcome back for the next installment of the Face Mask Chronicles, this time we're switching from charcoal to clay and trying out something a little more moisturizing!

What they say:
"Forget everything you think you know about clay masks. My fabulous new formula will leave you moisturized, dewy and glowing whilst also tightening your pores and clearing imperfections. This supercharged Goddess Skin Clay Mask is based on an ancient Mediterranean beauty recipe, which combines gentle yet nutrient-rich Spanish clay with Sweet Almond Oil, prized for its nourishing properties.

Working with the world’s leading laboratories, I took this centuries-old remedy and added the latest anti-age breakthrough ingredients, such as the BioNymph Peptide Complex to create a glow-giving formula your complexion will drink in. Try it using my patented Tilbury Tap Pro-Collagen facial massage for boosted results. Celebrity facialists have been sharing the formula with their clients to use in between treatments leading up to a red carpet appearance. Now everyone can have flawless, glowing Goddess Skin - discover the rebirth of your skin, the results are breathtaking."

This is a pricey one at $70, however, a little goes a long way!

Application:
I apply this either with finger tips or my ELF Face Spatula. I leave the mask on for 10 - 20 minutes and, unlike some other clay masks, this one doesn't dry down quite the same and stays fairly soft on the skin so if you don't like the tight/dry feeling of some masks, this one would be a great option!

(l-r: right after application and 15 minutes later)
Removal:
As i mentioned before, i like to wash face masks off in the shower to avoid making a mess. I either massage the product away with wet hands or use a warm, damp washcloth. This mask is easier to remove than some that might dry more so is more gentle in that regard.

In Conclusion... :
This is a super interesting formula to me, as someone with combo/oily skin i've always gravitated towards masks that dry and draw out oils but this one is just as awesome for different reasons.

The sweet almond and rose hip oils keep the mask supple and seem to really infuse the skin with moisture which i think would be great for more sensitive skin types that still want to partake in the mask fun. That said, i do think the clay does still do its job and my skin felt well toned and pores seemed diminished.

I think this mask is a general great all-rounder but would be especially good for more mature skin, people with anti-aging concerns and anyone who gets too dry using traditional masks.

(l-r: immediately after removal and after a light moisturizer)

Let me show you swatches, a demo and review on this Anastasia Glow Kit in "That Glow"... perfect for that summer sheen!

In case you couldn't guess already, i am loving everything about these, the shade range, formula, application... so dreamy!

When i saw Kat Von D had released eye quads AND one of them was vegan, i figured both you and i would like to know a little more about it. Let me show you some swatches, along with a review and demo of the Sage palette.

You can find this palette here ("sage" is the only vegan one).
Also, heres your reminder to shop via your ebates account if you have one, otherwise you can sign up here!

I tried out the Cover FX Click Sticks... lets see how it went!

Products used:

  • Correct Click in Yellow & Peach - http://bit.ly/21y7JlL
  • Cover Click in G40 & G80 - http://bit.ly/1privhE
  • Click Stick X2 - http://bit.ly/1UEirHf
  • You can also buy them together (as a threesome) here - http://bit.ly/1R2cVvy
  • Too Faced Love Flush Blush in How Deep Is Your Love - http://bit.ly/1RRJHNo
  • Too Faced Primed & Poreless Setting Powder - http://bit.ly/1NY49ON

Review:

Correct Clicks
  • Great pigmentation and color range for a variety of shades and discoloration.
  • Texture is easy to blend but retains its pigmentation well (doesn't blend out to nothingness).
  • Yellow is beautifully brightening in key areas after foundation application as well as beneath foundation to correct mild redness.
  • Peach is great for under eye darkness, dark spots or any blue toned discoloration. Best used with the warmth of your fingers if you're not going to top it with foundation or concealer.
  • Very reasonable price for the amount in the stick, i think if you're used to pots of concealer or corrector this might seem like a small amount but its really not.

Cover Clicks
  • The usual great color range of Cover FX is reflected in this new product also.
  • Easy to blend with a kabuki or fingers to a soft satin finish.
  • I found G40 was the perfect shade and i could spot correct with it without it being detectable at all.
  • Used as a foundation and bronzer or highlighter and bronzer, these products blend beautifully to an almost airbrushed satin finish.
  • Initially, as mentioned in the video, i thought the amount of product to be surprising but ounce for ounce compared to other stick foundations, its actually very comparable.
  • Lasted well throughout the day and retained its satin/skin-like finish without breaking up or getting oily.
  • Although you might have to buy it more often than some stick foundations, i think the ease of portability and the fact you don't have to worry about using up product before its use-by date makes it well worth it.
  • Amazing for travel or touch ups through out the day. After a few more uses, i'll definitely be bringing these on trips for super easy makeup application.

Overall, i think the "Clicks" system is an awesome idea. Especially for those who are on the go a lot of just like multi-use, minimal products.

I do think the Click Stick itself could maybe be improved upon since you can't easily have both products out at once but maybe once you're on the go and are using them, you wouldn't want both out at the same time any way? Its probably just me being picky.

If any of you have these products, please do share your opinions below!

Heres a chatty, try-on video where i talk about some new products as well as some older, well-loved ones.

I've known of Youngblood for a while after a friend who works in a medi-spa raved about them so when they asked if i'd like to try some of their vegan products, the answer was obvious!

Products used:

  • Anti-Shine Mattifier
  • Ultimate Corrector
  • Brow Artiste Sculpting Pencil in Blonde
  • Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow Quad in Timeless (note: one shade is not vegan and i just realized this- my mistake in misreading the catalog!)
  • Lip Liner in Pout
  • Mighty Shiny Lip Gel in Revealed

The mattifier worked well as a primer for me, makeup went on smoothly over it and gave a good base for the mineral makeup to stick to. The foundation wore well throughout the day and seemed to wear evenly without any weird breakup like some silicone-like primers cause on me.

Youngblood are compiling a complete vegan list which i will post as soon as its finished but in the meantime if you're interested, leave your email below and i'll send you their last catalog which has vegan items marked V; although its not up to date and there may be more vegan items.

Which of their items have you been eyeing up? I'm thinking i might try their Mineral Radiance Moisture Tint in Natural next!

After Logical Harmony announced Kat Von D's makeup line as being cruelty free and having many vegan options, naturally i needed to try some of them out!

The line as a whole is beautifully packaged, long-wearing and well thought-out. As i mentioned in the video, its odd to me that some people are bummed at her products being full coverage because i think they represent her as a person. While, yes they are full coverage, if you use them properly and tinker around you can get a variety of looks with them.

Lock-It Powder Foundation in Medium 57
A light application of this is perfect to set your face but to use alone i'd advise using a flat top kabuki and buffing the product into the skin.
When used alone its very layer-able while still remaining skin-like.
Its long lasting but also works well to throw in your bag for touch ups if you know your foundation wears off through out the day.

This is my favorite of the bunch. Perfect color, perfect applicator and perfect staying power.
You can achieve a variety of effects with this pen from hair strokes to soft, overall definition.

This is definitely going to be my summer brow product because its sweat proof doesn't leave me with any powdery residue in my brow hairs like some pencils or powders can.

I think this full coverage foundation has more to offer than people expect. Yes, it can be very full coverage but applied over a good moisturizer and really buffed in, it doesn't have to be cakey at all!

I found this lasted well throughout the day even around my nose, i just needed the tiniest bit of the powder foundation to touch up but i think that was partly my fault for applying too much in the first place and experiencing a little separation.

I think the key is to use less and build it up as you go, don't just slap a load on and wonder why you look like you're wearing fondant icing.

Lock-It Concealer in Light 16
This was another one i'd seen people having problems with online but i actually really liked.
Again, the coverage is very full but applied on moisturized skin and worked in with a damp sponge, it gives naturally flawless results.

Some may appear a little grey when you swatch them but applied to the face it seems perfect.

The staying power of this is very impressive, even after eating greasy food i found it just faded overall instead of cracking or going patchy.

I love this color and wish she had a bigger variety of the more natural shades but hopefully thats in the works!

For those who are pale and want a "your lips but better" nude shade, this is perfect!

I prefer using it with a little lip liner just to define the edges but the color is the perfect nude for pale people who don't want a brown color.

Too Faced recently released their vegan cocoa contour palette and i couldn't wait to try it!

After a few uses i can say that i'm really happy with 3 out of 4 of the shades. Here are a few more of my thoughts on it.

  • All colours blend beautifully and would work on most skin tones that are lighter than the 2 contour/bronze shades.
  • Light cocoa is a beautiful highlighter for those who don't like glitter. Can be used to brighten eyes or on high points of the face. I'd avoid using it around enlarged pores to avoid drawing attention to them.
  • "Pop of light" was the only color i wasn't keen on but applied with a finger i think you can pin-point where you want it better.
  • "Medium cocoa" and "dark cocoa" are amazing contour/bronze shades that blend to a natural finish and don't go muddy.
  • The colors wore well with the rest of my base makeup and didn't disappear through out the day.
  • Great for a neutral, every day eye makeup too.
  • The brush that comes with it is surprisingly good and makes it great for travel!

Here are some comparison photos with the Anastasia Contour Kit.

1) TF Light Cocoa VS ABH Vanilla
2) TF Medium Cocoa VS ABH Fawn

 3) TF Dark cocoa VS ABH Havana
4) TF Pop Of Light VS ABH Sand

And with the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer.

Even though i'm not keen on the "pop of light" shade, i still think the palette is worth it for me and i'll get a lot of use from it.

What are your thoughts on the palette?

Overall i do like the palette, i just don't think the choice of colors are to my taste. Some of the colors didn't come out as i'd expect from the pan but i think i'm gonna play around with it a little more.

Have any of you bought this palette?
What do you think of it?

Dose of Colors are a brand created by Anna of @makeupbyanna fame on instagram; consisting of incredible lip and lash products which are vegan, cruelty free, gluten free and paraben free.
I ordered a few items to try out and was so impressed with the color range, wear and finish that i had to share!

Berry Me (X)

Berry Me wore REALLY well AND was easy to remove which is like an unheard of combo for a matte liquid lipstick or stain. My lips didn't feel dry at all and it faded evenly but was still vibrant when i took it off to go to bed.

Some things you don't necessarily think of the cruelty free-ness of at first and, for me, lashes and lash glue was one of those.

It turns out Georgie Beauty have beautiful lashes and lash glue that are both cruelty free and PETA approved.

Not only do they have beautifully packaged "compacts" filled with gorgeous lashes and animal friendly glue, but they also have boxed strip lashes and individuals, too.
