Current Favorite: Recipe Book

Wednesday, March 25, 2015

I get a lot of questions on which are my favorite recipe books and while River Cottage Veg has  been the front-runner for a long while now, i think Chloe's Italian Kitchen might be my new winner.

All of the recipes are simple, use basic fresh ingredients and look amazing. They don't contain "fake" ingredients (fake dairy items etc), as i call them, so none of the ingredients are super hard to find or dependent on where in the world you live. Great for vegans and beyond.

(tonight i made the spicy tomato soup and wild mushroom rigatoni)

Theres a little food game i like to play with whoever will humor me which is, "you can only eat food from one nation in the world, which do you choose?", and while Middle Eastern is generally my initial thought i have to say Italian is a close second.

Which are your favorite vegan (or easily veganized) cookbooks?

  1. Mmmm Middle Eastern.... Good answer. My answer to the one cuisine game would have to be Greek followed closely by Japanese and Thai.
My favourite veganizable cookbook is very nostalgic for me and that's Linda McCartney' world of vegetarian cooking. My dad brought this for me for Christmas when I was 12 and I'm still cooking from it 15 years later. For 100% vegan cookbooks 'how it all vegan' and 'veganomicon' are the bomb!
