Top Mascaras

It seems theres a lot of misinformation out there in the form of there not being any good vegan mascaras and, well... there are many!

Here are a few of the ones i like and why you might like them too...

This is the original "tube technology" mascara and forms tiny water resistant tubes around your lashes that then slide off when you want to remove them with a little water and gentle pressure from your finger tips or a cotton pad.
The formula is very thin and watery to apply but coats lashes beautifully and doesn't clump.

Best for...
For those who want to apply their mascara and not think about it again until the end of the day. This isn't buildable but its staying power is fantastic!

Thought to be a 5-in-1 mascara, it has you covered if you're into curl, separation, volume, length and drama.
It's 5-grooved brush is my all time favorite and somehow perfectly separates and coats lashes you didn't even know you had.

Best for...
Honestly, everyone. This can be applied lightly for super natural looking lashes or layered for the ultimate, fluffy perfection. Easy to remove but doesn't seem to transfer during the day.

Who...

Meant to...
Lengthens, defines & volumizes lashes with its long-lasting formula. The silicone brush also has a "lions tail" tip to it for those who prefer to apply with their brush perpendicular to the lash line (great for lower lashes).

Best for...
Although this isn't my favorite because i prefer a bristlier brush, for those who want a silicone brush and are on a budget, this is an awesome option!

Who...

Meant to...
Lengthens and volumizes with its soft, creamy formula.
Its more traditional style brush suits most eye shapes and gets into the roots of the lashes with ease.

Best for...
Anyone who wants a fluffy, fluttery, buildable mascara that isn't glossy or spiky. Its also gluten free.

Who...
Madam Glam Long Lash Mascara- $15.99 (i've been assured by MG that only their lipsticks contain beeswax, the rest are vegan- definitely contact them with any concerns)

Meant to...
Volumizes, lengthens and conditions for high impact lashes. Its buildable formula can take you from day time fluffy lashes all the way up to va-va-voom glam!

Best for...
Those who like volume and drama. Their formula really confuses me because it appears to have fibers in but there are no fluffy flakes, its almost like the formula creates its own lash fiber extensions- maybe its witchcraft?

Who...

Meant to...
Conditions lashes while adding volume. This mascara is infused with coconut oil and vitamin b to help hydrate your lashes while you wear.

Best for...
Anyone who wants to protect their lashes while they adorn them with beautiful volume. Their wand is large but the tapered tip makes for easy application on tight spots. The finish is semi-glossy while still giving lots of volume and drama after layering. A great all-rounder! (i found this similar to the Tarte gifted mascara for its conditioning properties but do prefer this one)

Who...
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara- $23 (vegan info & keep up to date with the possible sale here)

Meant to...
It's collagen formula and hourglass shaped brush leave you with intense, lush lashes. Layerable up to colossal proportions.

Best for...
Those who want ultra thick, full, fluffy lashes... you will love this. I find it easiest to apply when i wipe excess off the brush and do it in thinner coats. Not for the faint of heart!

  1. Some awesome info here, thanks Rhian. I love the dramatic effect "Better than Sex" has on my lashes but I'm a squinty smiler so it does transfer underneath my lower lash line. I've been thinking of trying the Blinc mascara to see if this helps with that problem. Also thanks for the low key travel kit suggestions. If you happen to find a good waterproof mascara I would love to hear about it x

  2. Did you intend to write collagen in the description for Too Faced? Collagen is not a vegan ingredient and isn't listed in their formula. Maybe I misunderstood something...?

    1. If you click the link in the info I posted you can see this in their description,
"Take home our Better Than Sex mascara and all your desires for lush, incredibly intense lashes will be fulfilled. One application of our collagen-fueled formula and touch of our specially shaped brush will leave you begging for more."

I'd guess it's a synthetic version just like synthetic beeswax.
