The Face Mask Chronicles : Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Skin Clay Mask

Tuesday, January 17, 2017

Welcome back for the next installment of the Face Mask Chronicles, this time we're switching from charcoal to clay and trying out something a little more moisturizing!

What they say:
"Forget everything you think you know about clay masks. My fabulous new formula will leave you moisturized, dewy and glowing whilst also tightening your pores and clearing imperfections. This supercharged Goddess Skin Clay Mask is based on an ancient Mediterranean beauty recipe, which combines gentle yet nutrient-rich Spanish clay with Sweet Almond Oil, prized for its nourishing properties.

Working with the world’s leading laboratories, I took this centuries-old remedy and added the latest anti-age breakthrough ingredients, such as the BioNymph Peptide Complex to create a glow-giving formula your complexion will drink in. Try it using my patented Tilbury Tap Pro-Collagen facial massage for boosted results. Celebrity facialists have been sharing the formula with their clients to use in between treatments leading up to a red carpet appearance. Now everyone can have flawless, glowing Goddess Skin - discover the rebirth of your skin, the results are breathtaking."

This is a pricey one at $70, however, a little goes a long way!

Application:
I apply this either with finger tips or my ELF Face Spatula. I leave the mask on for 10 - 20 minutes and, unlike some other clay masks, this one doesn't dry down quite the same and stays fairly soft on the skin so if you don't like the tight/dry feeling of some masks, this one would be a great option!

Removal:
As i mentioned before, i like to wash face masks off in the shower to avoid making a mess. I either massage the product away with wet hands or use a warm, damp washcloth. This mask is easier to remove than some that might dry more so is more gentle in that regard.

In Conclusion... :
This is a super interesting formula to me, as someone with combo/oily skin i've always gravitated towards masks that dry and draw out oils but this one is just as awesome for different reasons.

The sweet almond and rose hip oils keep the mask supple and seem to really infuse the skin with moisture which i think would be great for more sensitive skin types that still want to partake in the mask fun. That said, i do think the clay does still do its job and my skin felt well toned and pores seemed diminished.

I think this mask is a general great all-rounder but would be especially good for more mature skin, people with anti-aging concerns and anyone who gets too dry using traditional masks.
